Department of Immigration Visa application fees are set to increase for a number of visas lodged on or after 1 July.
For many visa types the visa application fees have been increased in line with CPI. Changes for some common visa types are below:

Applicants for contributory parent visas will be glad to hear that the increase to the application fee is only 3% from 1 July with no increase to the second instalment (currently up to $43,600).
Conclusion
The Budget has confirmed that employers will have higher transaction costs when sponsoring overseas staff with the The Skilling Australia Fund training levy positioned to take effect at any moment.
Increases are expected to increase around 2% for applications lodged on or after 1 July 2018, but not necessarily to all visa application types. Visa applicants are urged to seek professional advice to understand how this might impact them.
