Business Talent Visa (subclass 132)

This visa allows you to develop and establish a new or existing business in Australia. It has two streams:

- Significant Business History stream: for high-caliber business owners or part-owners who want to run business in Australia.

- Venture Capital Entrepreneur stream: for people who have sourced venture capital funding from a member of the Australia Venture Capital Association Limited (AVCAL).

For eligibility, you must:

- be nominated by a state or territory government agency

- be invited to apply for the visa

- have assets of AUD 1.5 million and business turnover of AUD 3 million (Significant Business History stream) or

- have funding of at least AUD 1 million from an Australia venture capital firm (Venture Capital Entrepreneur stream).

Length of stay: Permanently.

The visa lets you do:

It lets you and any member of your family unit granted this visa:

·          stay in Australia indefinitely

·          work and study in Australia

·          enroll in Medicare, Australia's scheme for health-related care and expenses

·          apply for Australian citizenship (if you are eligible)

·          sponsor eligible relatives for permanent residence

·          travel to and from Australia for five years from the date the visa is granted (after that time, you should get a resident return visa or another visa to return to Australia).

Your Family:

You can include the following people in your visa application at the time of lodgment:

·          your partner

·          your child/step-child or your partner’s child/step-child.

The application must include documentary evidence of relationship to you.

Members of your family unit must be able to show that they have enough health and character as requirements.

Your obligations:

You and your family must comply with all visa conditions and Australian laws.

You must fulfill your business obligations.

If you are outside Australia when the visa is granted, you must enter Australia by a specified date. We will tell you what this is. Your family members might not be allowed to marry or enter into a de facto relationship before they enter Australia. We will tell you if this condition applies.

You must tell us your residential address within six months of arriving in Australia.
